Reefgreener I think you have to send the unit to AO for repair/replacement. When a Firmware update is interrupted it leaves the unit essentialy Brain dead so in most cases it no longer knows how to accept any updates or even how to switch on. Some Hardware is made with a small backup programme that can be activated in such cases but I doubt that the Aquatronica has this feature since its very rare.

yup that happened to me... tell Ron and he can trouble shoot with you on the phone but i think you will have to send it back to AO and get another one.. thats what i ended up doing...


oh and one more thing.. i have the salinity probe but i have no idea how to interpret the reading.. i know that my tank is at 1.026( i have a refractometer) but how do i translate the number that the aqua is giving me to something that i can understand?

Gabriel,

Go to the conductivity menu and scroll to measurement units. Your choices are SG, Ms, ppt. Simply select SG and hit enter and your set!

I had some trouble while down loading the last update. The internet update was successful to the hard drive, but during the down load to the controller, the down load was interupted. The controller wont power up at all now. Any one have any suggestions?

i dont have all those options i only have

mSeimons/cm

&

g/litre

where are you getting the other options? am i missing a firmware upgrade?
 
I have mS/cm, g/l, & PSU. None of which show SG...

I just use mS/cm and the following conversion table:

My guess would be the firmware version of the salinity interface. You can check this out by navigating to the conductivity interface in the menu and then selecting 'about'.

Mine is version 2.0 for reference.

I wish, I'm just counting the days, maybe this time next week?? But I'm having fun reading about all the fun everyone seems to be having with their Aquatronicas.

Sorry, g/l is the same as Specific Gravity (at least it is on mine)

I have been doing some more reading on ELOS and I am starting to have some reservations about their products, mainly the prices. Seems to me they do everything with Sak's 5th Avenue packaging and style and the prices reflect that.
I was reading some posts and what really turned me off was the $150 MH bulb (Yes just a single bulb, no fixture)!! I am starting to wonder if it's all just flash and glitz or is the product really worth the money? I really am looking forward to hearing your review.

The bulb does seem on the high side, and Jesse from Elos, has passed a bulb to Sanjay to have tested. He has already said he will not carry the bulbs if they don't out perform other bulbs in it's class. As far as the controller, I think it's not that much more then others with it's options. As soon as I get it I will give an honest evaluation. I loved the Aquatronica when I first bought it, but as I used it and had problem after problem I realized that there has to be something better. If I have the same type of problems with the Elos I'll have to start looking for yet another controller. I have to tell you I've heard about some of the new options being released at Interzoo for the Elos controller that will make it perfect for me. I already told Jesse not to bother coming back from Interzoo unless he has a few of the new toys in his bags for me. Really cool things

yup i have it set to mSeimons/cm and thats what it is showing me?????
 
Recalibrate the probe. I used 53 ms fluid, but whatever you do make sure you set the calibration value to match the fluid.

i still dont kow what to do with my salinity probe.. the number still means nothing to me.... i calibrated the thing witht the fluid that Will sent me.. but i dont know how the numbers relate to the chart that pysire posted above
