Psyire any update on the salinity probe test? Just wondering what you think now that you have been comparing the refractometer to the probe.

Well It has been 8 weeks since I last calibrated my probes, way overdue but my vacation etc. messed up the time table, so I decided to get it over with last night.

I figured it would be a good idea if I shared the info as it will enable us to better understand how often the probes need Calibrating and if there is any pattern in the way they lose calibration. I hope other will post there results also.

I used Pinpoit 7 & 10 fluid for pH, Red Sea 450 mv for ORP and 53ms fluid for salinity.

After 8 Weeks

Salinity was reading 51.8ms, off by -1.2 ms or 2.2%
pH 10 read 10.06
pH 7 read 6.8
Orp 450 read 452 mv

All in all I am very impressed, the Salinity probe is working much better now that I clean it off every 2-3 weeks. The ORP probe is really great, I am going to stretch out the Calibration perion on the orp to 4 Months and see how well it maintains it's reading.

The only negative was the pH 7 reading, I believe that was caused because the last time I calibrated it I may have messed up things so I will leave final judgement on that till the next calibration.

Robby why is your ORP so high? are you using ozone i was told that ORP should never go aboove 400

My ORP is about 300-350 in the Tank(with Ozone), the reading I posted is the 450mv Calibration fluid it read 452mv on the AQ before I recalibrated

Just noticed that AO is having a presale on the new Ethernet module, if you order now your entered in a draw to be one of three Beta testers and get your unit ahead of time.
Also he says the first batch is in limited quantity so its best to let him know from now.

AO did a further post on the Ethernet

"From AO"

We will be receiving approximatly 5 Beta Testing units around July 20th, 2006. Of those 5 units, we will be giving 3 of them to people who pre-order their Ethernet Controllers before June 30th.

The latest news from Aquatronica is that their inital production of the Ethernet Module is estimated to be only 100 units. We are anticipating that we will be able to secure approximately 25 of these units. The release date for production models will be September 30th, 2006.

If you wish to receive an Ethernet Module in September, you are strongly urged to place your order soon.

100 units is such a small amount, I wonder why AQ would just make that many! World wide there must be more than a 1000 AQ users and you can bet most of them will want ethernet.

Saurus I hope you get one, I wish all the regulars in this thread could get one.

Maybe if enough people pre-order them, Aquatonica will ramp up production and deliver more units. This addition really will make it the best controller on the market. I can't WAIT!

I agree, more pre orders will make them take notice and let them know that when we ask for something we really do want it and are willing to buy it.
Normaly I don't like preorders, but I have no probs giving WILL a preorder, he has proven himself to be very customer friendly and in this for the long haul.

BTW this thread is going to split again soon...

Hope I am one of the beta recipients.. "crosses fingers"..:p

what are the perks to beta testing?

Getting it 5-6 weeks earlier, maybe having some of your ideas incorporated into the software.

AO may even send you a free Calender. BTW WILL I still never got my free Cap :(

OK,
Finally got around to programing everything !
Looked through post and didn't se an answer to my question. It might be very simple ,but here goes.
How do you get the plugs you want to be always on? If you do it on the manual seting, always on ,then the plug won't shut off with an agenda button, i.e. food timer. I'm sure it's simple, just haven't figured it out.
Also if you hook up the salinity probe and get no reading it is hooked up is there a fix? If I use the same usb cable to any other prob it indicates it is connected. Use it on salinity probe..no reading of it being connected.

Any ody with advise it would be great.

thanks,
Todd
