I have searched every website on the internet for an Id of these guys. I got them about 5 months ago and after toiling over what they could be I'm really thinking Arabian nights. what do u think?? the pictures are cell phone quality so the color is dulled QUITE a bit but you can get the idea. the center is a beautiful purple and the edges are orange under daylights and an incredibly neon pink under actinics...daylights

Know your zoas/pallys before ordering/buying, that way you dont get trolled :P

I agree completely but with a lot of them there is such a miniscule differencd between them its really hard to tell. what is the difference between Arabian night palys and the lunar eclipse I'm lookin at both and cant tell lol. I feel like like people just give them exotic names and charge a lot for the same zoas. the ones in my picture were some of the first I ever had. they came in a random zoas pack from online so I didn't get to pick or get names ya kno?? I actually have a colony that came in that pack that didn't open for almost four months but I kept moving them and didn't give up and the finally opened about three weeks ago. they look like fruit loops but they are still coloring up and growing their "frills" back so I'm not sure yet

The only way to not get ripped off, is to buy what you want for what you're willing to spend... if you buy coral or anything as an investment your begging to get ripped off . but that's just me :)

That's exactly what the case is, because when everyone has lunar eclipse you need to color them up under neon blue lighting and call them something else.

yea that's what I figured I just wanted to get some opinions. I've gotten really into corals over the last few months and all the sps I've been looking at or have purchased seems straight forward, meaning a birds nest is a birds nest and a blue acro is just that but the zoas market seems so complicated with so many different morphs and variants in color of the same zoa. not to mention the outrageous difference in price from one person or place to the other for very similar zoas. thanks for the info guys

The thing is zoanthids are easier to keep so it's where new hobbyists tend to look when first stocking up their tanks, and they just don't know they're getting ripped off until their tank is stocked with a bunch of insanely overpriced renamed stuff that's "new". SPS are bad, but you don't really see a blue tenuis getting colored up and renamed for $100 an inch since they've been in the hobby a bit longer.
