It's comparatively reef safe, although this species is fairly large and may taste of a greater variety of potential foods than most species. Bob Lipe kept one for many years, feeding it mainly lettuce and Donax clams on the half shell.
In addition to that commentary, Bob says, "I had a Cypraea arabica from the Philippines that was an adult when it was purchased from a pet store. It lived in my aquarium for 21 years. I'm sure that in the wild it wouldn't have made it that long. I fed it raw seafood, algae, rabbit pellets, lettuce Coquinas, and pen shell, Atrina ridgida, etc. I gave up my aquarium after it died. Many mollusk passed through that aquarium in those 21 years."
