Arduino build

Ok guys I need your help. Im finally pulling the trigger:uzi: and going to buy an arduino mega 2560. Ive read almost all the threads and builds people have done with this controller but I am still way lost. Im not looking for someone to hold my hand and give me step by step but i need a push. All the threads I've read seem to end in 2013 I believe due to the RA being released? Is there anything different from the 2013 builds that would hinder me? Like firmware updates or anything. If not I think I'm going to copy Manics build but make a few modifications. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as in helpful hints and tips. Thank you all in advance and I will start a build thread as soon as i order the board So I can give any up in coming new people an updated build thread for 2015/2016

I ran into the same problem, have you come across the Manic's DIY Arduino Reef Controller? HIs thread was pretty helpful!
