Are anemones a must have for clowns?

I would like to have a couple clowns for my 125 mixed reef but I'm not crazy about anemones. Will the clowns be unhappy without an anemone to host... In other words... Do I have to have an anemone to have clown fish?

No, they don't need an anemone.

One of my pairs is currently without an anemone, and are doing just fine. Granted, they tend to hosted by the corner.
