Are Blue Maxima's a thing of the past ?

I just got 5 of them from a LFS. They are small, but with nice colors. They are from the farm in the Marshall Islands.

ORA is producing plenty of stock. Look around and you're bound to find some.

You can find the 1" clams that die without $500 worth of DT's, I am looking for a 3" blue maxima.

has never had any dts put in the tank have had it for 8mo.

is it? its under 65k lighting so its not as blue as it was before I thought crocea's had paterns all over them ?

ahh well I havn't had a clam since before we moved and those where Dersa's. as soon as I get it to attach to a small rock it will be up in the rockwork.

Yeah there is no doubt that that's a Crocea. Some are full of wonderful blues and greens, but purple seems to be the dominate color at all the ones at my LFS. Maximas are the ones with the cool patterns on them.

trying to ID clams by mantle color or pattern will not get you far. read this.
