are clown fish male and female ?

i was told that clownfish are young are both male and female and change to male or female by being bulied but that does not sound right does any one know? the ones i am looking at are black and white or percula clowns thank you drd

clowns are born niether as they mature the dominate one will turn female other will turn mail,if for some reason the female is lost the male will then turn female the next clown in the pecking order will then become male
