Are cocktail shrimp ok?

Is it ok to feed an anemone regular table shrimp? Kinda getting sick of frozen food. Especially mysis, I think it makes my tank water smell for a short period of time after I feed.

both cooked and uncooked are fine, but uncooked is much better. Try to buy it fresh and watch for preservatives. Much of the packaged stuff is preserved with phosphate.

I feed fresh seafood all the time. I feel stupid ordering 4 shrimp or scallops but it's better than traveling an hour to a pet shop.

i buy small uncook shrimp when they are on sale. $4lb and it last me a looooooooooooooong time.

Just make sure they don't go bad. There is anecdotal evidence of people feeding bad seafood (especially shrimp) and killing their anemone. If you wouldn't eat it, don't feed it to your anemone.

I buy them in the Super-Market, it's for human. and yes i am very carefull what i feed my nems, i throw away unused portions or re-freeze them.

if it looks bad, it goes to the trash.

Just make sure they don't go bad. There is anecdotal evidence of people feeding bad seafood (especially shrimp) and killing their anemone. If you wouldn't eat it, don't feed it to your anemone.
