Are fish market common cockle clams reef/FOWLR safe?

while I was at the fish market today, I purchased a few common cockles from the live bins. I was thinking of tossing them in my tank for my puffer to have a snack from time to time.

What do you think of that?

Any thoughts from anyone on these?

So far they've been doing fine in the tank.

i believe as long as they are fed, they are fine.

I've done it before, I think they prefer colder water, but if a puffer will eat them sooner than later, no worries
