Are my clowns paired up?

I have had 2 Clarki's for about 3 months. When I got them the LFS gave me one bigger one and one smaller one, and said the big one would be the female and the small one would turn into the male. Well if the bigger one is the female, she is the queen b**** because she keeps the male in the corner of the tank. If he dares to come out she puts him back in his place. Then she goes and sleeps with him in his corner at night. (hey now that I think about it, her situation doesn't sound all that bad, hehe) But is this typical behavior for paired clowns?

Clarki's are just rough customers. I wouldnt worry as long as they sleep together or spend some time together there is a chance. If she realy starts beating him down he will lose fins. He will start staying in the top corner expect for when he is running for his life.

I would not add an Anenome to the situation untill they are older. She will be twice as mean with a nem to protect.

i agree i have an anem and a clarkii pair and I rearrange most of my rocks monthly so that they dont get quite as territorial, but they yours sounds like my pair in the early stages. It sounds like he is accepting his role and submitting. She will soon allow him to swim along with her if they are like mine anyways.

wow sounds like human marriages.......lol j/k....

yeah i've had a pair of false perc's and the bigger one swims all over the tank and the baby one comes out every so often but for the most part, he sits in the corner by the overflow...(new fish is about 1-2weeks on in my tank)

so, as long as he's not getting eaten or what not i wouldnt worry it just takes time by what i read.....i like to put in some extra food though to make sure mine eats....
