Are Sponges toxic?

I have a friend that has a Queen Angel that is eating his sponges and he is worried that they may be toxic. He calls the sponges that he has the tear-drop variety. Thanks,

I think angels do eat sponge, and probably know what they're after. Posting this in the invert section might also get you some info.

Sponges are a natural part of their diet and this is a great supplement for it. There are some that are toxic, however, and release them when stressed and whatnot. If he hasn't seen any deletarious affects throughout the rest of his tank since his angel started munching on them, though, I wouldn't worry about it.
