Are sump and fuge same thing?

Need some clarification... I hear these terms used, sump and fuge.

I understand refugium is refuge for certain types of food, algae, pods etc.

But is a fuge separate to a sump?

Refugium is in the sump. But a sump might not have a refugium.

A refugium can either be a separate container that is plumbed into the system or it can be a partitioned off section of the sump. The sump is normally placed below the display to house equipment and increase water volume. Some folks use that extra water volume to create the refugium since they have the room to do so within the sump.
