Are there any Actinic LEDs controllable via profilux?

Hello,

I am an avid profilux user and have been using the Simu Spots in my reef for a few months now. Generally I like them, but wanted to bring out the colors of the corals more at night also.

Are there any actinic LEDs comatible with profilux or that could be made to interface with the 1-10v?

I have the simu spot, it has the white and the blue LEDs.

I the blue LEDs are not even close to illiciting an actinic response.

I have a 4 x 1w Current USA "460" nm array, and the actinic color there is something different altogether, the simuspot doesn't even come into the ballpark with the blue.

are the standalone blue lights using a different blue LED than the simu spot uses?

You know you can adjust the blue under LED programming to match the effect you desire, you can also adjust it by the input voltage

I thought in the simu spot I can only control Red and then White/Blue are always tied together????

not sure which control you mean.

I just selected Illumination 1, the blue/white LEDs, and hit LED Programming.

I set it to Deep Blue and saved.

For a moment, the RED lights turned on, and then after a few seconds it went back to normal... a 50/50 mix of white and blue.

I'm not sure how it works, it says to unplug everything else from l3/l4, all I have are the 2 simu-spots on a splitter.

no change in the blue happened.

confused

LED programming is under 1-10V interface screen

Unplug all stuff from L ports and plug into L1 the Stick you wish to program.

Select from the menu what feature you wish to have i.e dark blue or blue white etc etc

And then hit program, the LED will come on for a short period and then off, it is then re programmed.

Thats what I did. after better comparison of before and after, I can tell that its changing things *slightly* if I select between white blue and deep blue.

however even with deep blue the white LEDs are still on.

also each of my simu's looks a different color, one is always more white (and always turns on at different dimming values).

maybe something is wrong with my setup, but the type of blue I am getting out of the Deep-Blue SimuSpot is nowhere near actinic, its just blue.

I turn on the current USA actinic LEDs and colors come out of nowhere that the Simu- in full blue mode doesn't even hint at.

Hiya

You will not get a true actinic from the simu sticks as you say the white will always come on, if you get the moon sticks you will have a more close match to actinics but again never exact.

Variance between two sticks can happen as LED's have a habit of wandering slightly. You can adjust this to a degree with playing around with input 1-10V voltages.

ok thanks for the clarification, I might try the moon sticks.

I wish I could tune by two spots to correct for the difference, but they are both split from the same L3L4, and all my other L ports are bein used.

thanks again.
