are there warm water SH's?

Not only that, some will say anything to get a sale, look at the poor capensis, they were sold as horses that were trained to handle warm waters, ie, tropicals, yet they are the only true cold water horse.

When they sold, everyone kept them as the recommendations by the breeder, and all died, far too warm water.

Commercial aquarists generally will be as honest as possible, as their reputation depends on long living creatures they breed, unfortunatly some do not give a **** and say anything to get a sale.

Does anyone have suggestions for chillers? Are there any that are affordable, or are they all pretty expensive compared to overall cost of equipment. I would be targeting either a 47g column or 56g column, to narrow the range down a bit.

Thanks for the link! I see that unit goes for $990, and most others in a similar class go from the bottom at about $649 on up to over a thouasand. I understand the article's viewpoint of looking at long term total cost of ownership over just initial cost though. Guess that answers my question! :)

I've seen plans floating around on the internet for a DIY chiller, made from one of those office water coolers. May be a heck of a lot cheaper than buying one!
