Are these anchor worms?

GPS tracker my friend. Let us know how you do with the formalin. Hopefully you start seeing some kind of improvement.

I bmx bike so the bike takes a bit too much of a beating for a gps tracker to last .Plus i figured id never need it, unfortunately my brain obviously wasnt working and i forgot the bike in my truck. According to my neighbor a kid picked it right up out of it and road away. Ill be out looking for him

Ill definitely keep you updated on the tangs. The hippo is still doing ok but could look better and the worm dropped off the powder blue(either the eggs released or the prazi killed it).

So the dosage for dimilin is 1/10 tsp per 50 gallons. Im not sure how im going to accurately measure this for a 35 gallon tank.

4.929 milliliters Per Teaspoon divided by 10 is .4929 ml per 50g. So if my math is correct you need to dose 0.34503ml for 35g. IF my math is correct*

Thanks i appreciate that. For some reason i was thinking it would be difficult to measure out less than 1 ml, then i remembered pretty much all of my syringes are capable of measuring that amount lol.

So theres a new one on the hippos face that wasnt there when i dosed the dimilin. Youd think the dimilin wouldve killed it while it was trying to find a host. Instructions say wait 3-5 days then redose which ill do, but im not too confident.

Have you confirmed they are anchor worms? Where did you get the fish from, I have never encountered them in 19 years in the hobby?

No and i dont see how i could ever know for sure exactly what it is unless i pull one off and throw it under a microscope(which i dont have). All i know is,whatever it is has survived practically every medication out there. Hopefully the dimilin is doing something. Ill check on them when i get home from work. Next step if dimilin doesnt work(hope to god it does) is formalin dips. I got the hippo from a lfs while the rest came from live aquaria.

Reefer, how are your fish today?

They all looked great today. The hippos skin is clear and his color is back. Im thinking about adding them to the Dt tomorrow, but may hold off till next weekend. Im thinking what I saw yesterday was some detritus stuck to his slime coat because he likes to sleep wedged up on the ground and the spot looked different from the worms i saw before the dimilin. It was gone in about 5 minutes also. Ill see how they look tomorrow and make the call. Thinking about a formalin dip before they go in the main tank just to be safe.

They looked good this morning so i moved them over to the 300 gallon. They all regained their color and seem much happier.
