Several weeks ago i posted a thread saying i was unable to get the alarm in one of my 6100s to stop going off... i was told to really really clean it well.. i assumed i needed a pipe cleaner to clean the center of the prop out so i left it unplugged untill i could get a pipe cleaner... so the other day i clean out the center of that prop.... alarm still goes on.... i figure eh ill have to send it in.... so i fall asleep in the fish room... and i hear an alarm going off..... its the other 6100.. i pull it apart and see some calcium build up... so i soak it in vinegar for 24hours... brush out the inside... it looks brand new i figure no problem.... opps alarm goes off when i plug it back in.... i unplug and plug back in and its going beeep.... pause... beeep... pause... beeep pause.

so i have no idea what the heck is wrong with these things

Can i send the entire thing back controller and all to find out what the problem is? I need the address again to send the stuff in...unless there is a possible reset button i dont know about.

Please send them in, but since you get an alarm, you have power and we can rule out the transformers, don't send those. They are heavy and add substantial shipping expense.

Does this sound completely crazy, or do these little boxes go bad over time... it seems strange to me that they both would go bad a month within each other....or does running just 1 pump even though they are both still programmed to work put undo stress on the other?

The 1st one to break was running on its own for awhile because the other needed a motor to be replaced.... then the old one went and the new motor one was running on its own for about a month and now that one went bad.

Usually an alarm indicates a bad motor, a dead driver typically will not alarm, but there are exceptions. Usually if pumps fail simultaneously there is a common event, like a power surge. One could not trigger another to fail.
