Arron's 75 gallon build

So I finally got my stand and filled my tank up with water yesterday. It's a 75 gallon tank with a corner overflow and a 29 gallon sump. Thought I'd take some pictures now that the water is clear. This is my first saltwater aquarium. There are a couple damsels that my buddy gave me and a few hermit crabs to help the tank cycle in. I wan't a few fish but mostly corals, but I don't know what type of corals I want yet. Probably some that are easy to take care of. Well here are the pics. Sorry for the quality, they were taken with my phone. Shoot me some suggestions/comments!

Lol thanks Ryan. I still need to buy power heads and I'm gonna order some key largo rocks from marcorocks.com soon

It is looking really nice, I had to go back and check that you said it was your first saltwater tank cause it sure doesn't look like it.

Thanks guys. I still have a lot to learn but i did a lot of research before I even bought anything. One thing i regret getting is the skimmer. I should have researched more and got a better one.

Coralife skimmers are nice but I can see what you mean because that one really isn't cut out for a 75 gallon tank. It obviously depends what your bioload is but if your like most of us and end up jamming every square inch of your tank with coral and fish it will be falling way short of what I would recommend for that size tank.

As it is there is definitely no need to make a change but if you plan on stocking up you would probably be well advised to keep an eye on Craigslist for a nice deal and then you can part with yours the same way.

OnE suggestion is that you move your heater to a section of ur sump. Where the water doesn't fluctuate. if ur water level gets too low it will f up ur heater.

Thanks Jeff. I had it in there while i was adding more live rock rubble to the fuge area. I forgot to move it back before I took those pics lol. It's in there now =).

Eh I noticed my water was all cloudy white yesterday. And now it's even cloudier =/ any idea what it could be guys?

Yeah algae would be my best guess or your sand is getting blown into the water. It is pretty common for sand to cloud up water in a new tank because it doesn't have much bacteria or anything else on its surface to hold it together. It is possible that the damsels are pushing the sand around, especially if there is still no rock or anything else for them to hide behind.

An off the top list of other things that can cloud up water, but some are easy to eliminate as possibilities.
Coral Spawning
Macro Algae Spawning (Many algae don't do this)
Decaying Organisms
Calcium precipitation (Most commonly from an overdose of kalkwasser or 2 part dosing supplements)

Btw do you plan to remove the damsels when you get live rock?

Yeah Im going to be ordering some rocks soon. But i have one small piece in the display tank already and about 8 pounds in the refugium. I moved the damsel into the refugium because i got an engineer goby and didnt want the damsel to mess with the goby. The algae in the refugium is some chaeto that ryan gave me. Here's a picture of the tank.

It's the engineer goby stirring the sand! Those things get huge!!! Like an eel. I put money that thing is stirring up the sand and causing a sand storm.
