yeah i looked one zoa id previously. none of the colonies are as bright as mine. except the yellow submarines ones but those are more neon green as where mine are more true yellow. they are like the color of a yellow tang but a little brighter. ill be posting pics with in the next hour and a half. i appologize for the delay.

I had some like that, but they changed colour over a period of weeks, didn't matter how much or little light I gave them :(

Cheers Shelton.

added it right before the lights shut off so it didnt have time to open up. but u can see what color it is.

Have you seen those open yet? I hate to say this but I believe you have yellow parazoanthids or "colonial polyps" those are very common.

Zoa's dont have a yellow "stalk" parazoanthids do.

hahahaha thanks man!;) yeah ai saw them open at the fish store and they r right now they ARE zoas!!

ill get a picture of them open right now hold on

its not the clearest picture cause these things are small but if u could see them in person ud know the are zoas.

:( I really hate to be the bearer of bad news but again, those are parazoanthids. Thats what happens to them when they have been deprived of light. Their skirts will grow with good lighting.

The guy at the LFS did right by only ringing it in as $5. The coco worm is awsome though :) be really happy about that, I have not seen many red ones at all!

I have some yellow parazoanthus that have short skirts and look exactly like that. I don't think those are zoanthids, which explains the $5. Like jovreefer said, if those were zoas the side of the body would be white or gray, certainly not yellow.

I think Jov is correct, not zoas but parazoanthids. Extremely common, can't even give them away around here. (Still beauty is in the eye of the beholder though) Be carefull where you place those as well. They are extremely fast growers and will take over all over the place if you don't place them out on the sandbed in thier own little island or something...

I have to agree with what others have sad, they do appear to be "yellow polyps" or "colonial polyps". I found one that looked exactly like those do in the fuge of our tank underneath a rock ledge, so it got nearly no light. Give it time and the proper environment and it will grow nicely.

Those are the yellow zoas I have. They are pretty bright, but wont compare to a parazoanthus.

well that sucks...oh well. the coco worm is super nice. but hell those colonial polyps will be inthe light so they grow then in to the cave they go i like the short tenticals on most polyps.

thanks for telling me
