Well my ASM 3 has been running for some time with no issues. I shut it off Friday nite to treat for an algea problem that came up while i was out of town. When i turned it back on yesterday i can not get it to skim right it pumps so much water into the collection cup that it overflows. I did not change how it was sitting or the outlet in anyway just unplugged it and plugged it back in. Any thoughts or help would be great thanks also this is not the first time it has been unplugged i do it everytime i empty the cup and have never had this happen

that would have been a perfect time to just clean the skimmer. The output pipe inside slime coating probably just dried and running it again will take some time for the slime coating to re-establish. You will have to ajust the pipe and or water level until the skimate is where you want it. Just like starting all over. Keep an eye on it and adjust slowly until you get it where you want it.

Well even with the pipe all of the way down it is still overflowing i have mixed up some fresh saltwater in a container and i will see what happens any other thoughts or help would be great also just in case anyone asks i treated my tank with Red Slime remover to take care of a Cyano problem

have you cleaned the pump and or the impeller? is the bubble output the same? how about the volute is the hose plugged and you are not getting enough air?

Check your air line and the air intake on the volute for blockage. You could be sucking more water than air now.

I've never used Red Slime remover before and am not familiar with it, but did you do anything to remove it from your tank after the treatment? e.g. large water changes running carbon, etc. Perhaps the skimmer is just taking all of it out.

I had the same issue a little while back and it ended up having the air tube blocked. I just cleaning it out and it worked great again
