ASM G-3 skimmer problem

i have the bubbles go halfway up the tube cause i don't want wet skimate so eventually it gets brown and dry and it works good for me ....how much water is it sittin in...has to be 6-8 in ....what happens when you feed your fish...?? the skimmer should go crazy ...at least my skimmer did....

Thats just it the bubbles I have set going to within an inch of the top and still get no brown bubbles going over, in fact all the bubbles are pure white. Even at feeding time or anything I get NO skimate, no brown bubbles. It was in 6" water so I bumped it up to 8" still nothing but pure white bubbles and no skimate. In fact here is a new thread I just started, discusses it in a little more detail.

If its only been running 2 days I would give it some time...

So you think I am freking for NOT? 2 days isn't enugh time? I know 1 guy earlier told me 2 weeks. Well I guess SW really does mean PATIENCE!

OK thanks!

yeah your over reacting..............Give it time . If it doesn't pick up then you need to look at your setup and figure how you are going to get detritus to it .......10x-12x flow in the display is very low IMO and I have a very hard time seeing waste making it to the skimmer for removal .

BTW I have had my g-3 for 3 years, my g-2 for a year and 3 other euro reef skimmers .....None of them took 2 weeks to get dialed in

my g3 took maybe 3 days to really get the junk out...now its just on cruise control...its some nasty stuff .....give it some more time...maybe do what clkwrk said and get more flow..i have 2 seio 820s and 2 seio 1100s..mag5 closed loop and a mak4 return ...so thats plenty of flow...its all about getting the stuff out of the tank and down to the skimmer to expel it .....so thats my 2cents....

Had my G3 for 2yrs. neck height, sump level, good position of pump intake takes time to find the "just right" IMO. Just sold it bought a G4x same thing over again, lots of whitebubbles not much in the way of muck in the cup yet, but when it starts pull'n the muck out you cant beat'em as far as Im concerned. O ya we just put a G4 in one our shop display tanks 2 days ago, I guarantee when I show up on friday all you wiil find is light colored liquid, not a drop of dark colored broth.
