ASM G1 Skimmer Please Help!!!

I have a ASM G1 skimmer, not the G1X. I bought the skimmer used with no pump. I want to purchase a pump but would like to upgrade to the sedra 3500 or something comparable. The skimmer is ment to use a sedra 2500 but I have read a few places that you can upgrade to the sedra 3500. Now my problem is that I have not read anyones results, can this be done? Can the skimmer handle the extra 100 gph? The only difference between the asm g1 and g1x is the height, which is 3 inches. Do I need any new parts to do this upgrade? As in the uniseal, or elbows?? Does the sedra 2500 uses the same external parts as the sedra 3500??

Please comment if you have any info, it will greatly be appreciated.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.....Shouldn't need any additional parts.....they all hook up the same between the ASM skimmers.......

My G1 that I have on my 200gallon has a sedra 5000 on it. The only draw back is that I have to empty the collection cup every other day.

What did you have to do to fit the pump? Are all sedra parts the same size? Did you have to drill the hole in the skimmer larger? The one that the uniseal is in? Please elaborate if possible.

Take the elbow off and slip the sedra 5000 out let over the ASM inlet nipple. A perffect fit.
