Asm g3 protien skimmers.

I just bought a asm g3 protien skimmer. Is this any good? I have a 100g tank.

i used to have a g2, i wasn't a big fan of it. not sure how much better the g3 is

Search for mods, mesh mod and re-circulating in particular.

I have used two differents ASM Skimmers and an AquaC. I am a big fan of the ASM and they are a very good price and are even better with the mods.

I have an asm with recirc mod and its a great skimmer

Not a bad skimmer, But not a great one either un modded. If you were to recirc mod it and mesh mod it then you got something.

I mesh modded mine and recirc modded it. About fifty bucks and a hour of your time. Makes a HUGE differance. And if you can direct feed it its even better!!

I had a ASM G3 at one time. I used the Sedra 5000 needlewheel as a recirc pump and used a Sedra 3500 needlewheel to feed the skimmer and added a gate valve on the outlet. This was probably the best skimmer I ever owned and I have owned alot of them.

I have one with-out any mods right now.

Although I plan to do the meshwheel, recirc and gate valve mods in the new year, it's running great on my 75.

G4X unmodded on my 300 gallon. Does a great job compared to some of the other skimmers I've saw in the same price range. This is my 3rd one and they were all good for me.

I Bought a used G-2 and am happy with it. The one I had prior to it was not very good at all so there is a nice difference.

I have one with the mesh mod and going to do the recirc mod soon but it works great and is a good price I'm happy with mine
