ASM mini G..... worth buying?

Is the ASM mini G worth buying? I'm looking for a new skimmer to replace my Coralife 65. It will be for the upcoming 40 breeder I'm working on.

Also, I've seen alot of mods done to the ASM line and would like to know which ones to do, how to do them, and why.

first of all i got the asm mini the day it came out since then its always been crap. to make it produce just a little i had to upgrade the pump to a genx 1500 and also do a valve gate mod and use mesh for the impeller. ts alot of work and its just not worth it just buy a rps-1000 that what i use now from pacific coast imports it works alot better if not that find somethng else or you CAN BUY MINE lol no i dont want to wish it for anyone else.

I would deffinitely stay away from the mini, the pump is too small, go to premium aquatics, they have a euro reef rs-80 on special, that will be perfect, and be enough, if you decide to go with a bigger tank later.

the asm mini is definantly a joke, it's horrible

I have seen 2 running & like others mentioned, the bubble output is poor at best!

the rs-80 from premium is a much better option

or go with a larger ASM

I was looking at the asm mini for a custom tank but seem to find all bad reviews. I noticed that you mention and rps-1000 skimmer, would you happen to have footprint size of that skimmer? pacific coast imports only has the width on it.

For a 40 breeder the CSS65 should be fine. I have it in a sump, it skims great!

Mini works perfect for me................I upgraded to the Gen_X 1500NW & I pull plenty of dark, dry skimmate.................
