ASM mods?

Hello. I was wondering has any one done any Mods to their ASM skimmers I've head people talk about them like adding bigger pumps making them pull more air, gate valves,
Any ideas would be great thanks :rollface:

I have a g-3 with gate valve mod and think it really helped.

If you are comfortable doing the mods then I would recommend at least these two; the gate or stop valve mod and the recirculation mod. If you do the recirc mod I would also suggest modifying the impeller blade. The collection cup mod comes in handy if you take a lot of business trips but for me it just made me more lazy so I don’t use it unless I’m away. I still use the stock pump and venturi.

Cool. But how do you mod the impeller blade? i've head of using a bioball but how do you do it?
Are these mods posted some where?

I would definetly do the mesh mod, it's a rave. It's easy, cheap, and really increases the performance of the skimmer. There is link somewhere on RC that takes you through step by step but I can't find it at the moment.

I have done the Gate Valve, Recirc Mod and installed a Euro reef
Sedra 5000 on my G3. It does a very good job for me.
