ASM skimmer stopped making foam

I shut down skimmer to perform for a water change, cleaned skimmer cup and turned skimmer back on. Now I'm getting no foam at all. The water just sits there. i noticed that the output from skimmer is now like a milky white for some reason. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sometimes you can have salt buildup in the air intake or in the pump, it is best to take it apart and clean but you can also use the the air intake to suck some warm mater into the line and pump and that may help. But like I said taking it apart is really what you should do and investigate from there.

Both water changes and cleaning the skimmer can temporarily reduce foam production, so it's not surprising at all that your foam collapsed after doing both. The milky output is most likely air bubbles escaping. Both should correct themselves within a day or so. Make sure you're not using any cleaning products on the skimmer cup, just water and a brush is fine.

There you go;)

My skimmer quits making foam for about 6-8 hours after a large waterchange.
