Assistance Request

Nothing will work well enough for me to trust it as my main sump. I am just going to buy a new one. Luckily they are only 75$ and most importantly, my wife understands. The upside is I was trying to figure out where to store my existing tank water during the move... now I will have an extra large container perfect for temporary storage! :)

Not sure what I am going to do. I have already learned that nothing can glue to this stuff.
Are you sure guerilla glue wont?

Angela had one that leaked and they gave her a credit for a new one. Tractor Supply said there was some kind of problem with them leaking. You may want to talk to her b4 you do anything so she can explain in detail. FYI I'm not sure If I'll have time on Sunday to stop by, After CeeGee I have to be back home to meet Tomstill at five He's picking up livestock from the 58gal so might have to do It another time. Since your not doing the move right away the next weekend should work no?

Bill, I'll be happy to have you over anytime you can visit. Next weekend will be fine. Please give me a call to discuss the rock when you can as well.

As for my sump, I have tired gluing some baffles to it when I first started the build. Because of that, the inside might look suspect to them for a return. I think I'll just hold on to it and find a less critical use for it. I put some epoxy putty on it this morning and will see if that will be adequate for occasional use.

I will go this weekend an buy a new one... after very careful inspection. When I do, I will mention Angela's experience and see if they have anything to say.

In general, I am not sure about anything... but I doubt it would. The type of plastic it is made of does not bond with much because of its waxy nature. A general Google search yielded no results when I was trying to install baffles. One posting even said anyone who comes up with a way to glue to these types of plastics would become a millionare...

I think plenty of things will work OK, but not enough for regular use as a sump. Mostly not enough for me to not worry all the time.

waynesworld, I applied the epoxy stick and it seems to hold water well enough. I am thinking I will use it during the move to hold my old tank water. After that, It is your if you want it.

As for the move, I will pickup a new stock tank today hopefully and will be back on track. So lets nail down the date.

Friday April 17th or Saturday April 18th?

Please let me know which works best for you all. Friday would be my preference. You all could come after work hours or after dinner (I'll order pizza if anyone wants). I'd leave early and get the tank mostly empty by the time you all arrived. Anyone available to come earlier would be welcome.

I picked up a new stock tank today. They were out of the 100's, so I went with the 150.

So the date is Friday the 17th.

So far I have Brandon with a Yes. Thanks!

Tractor Supply... 100 is $75 and 150 is $125.

Mixer911. Anytime Friday late afternoon. I will be home by 1PM to get things going. Depending on works schedules and family obligations with you all, I assume the tank move will actually happen around 6PM or a little there after. Pizza will be provided for those not eating dinner before.

Thx again poolkeeper1. No lifting help will also be in great demand :)
