Well about 3 months back I decided to dip my toes into some SPS. Was so excited to start up something new with my corals but I just can't get these guys to color up enough. They are growing like crazy, but with a slight pigmentation of their actual color. So I guess I will be doing just my LPS'. I love my LPS so this is the route I will take in the end. Time for me to pass some of these corals on so someone else can give them a try.(Some corals were moved to take pictures) I will be available starting Tuesday but can bring these to ABC Reefs if anyone wants to pick up from there.

Mike, those came from a tank with halides right? And you're running T5s? I had the same experience. I think that if you've got them growing, you're headed in the right direction. They will acclimate to the lighting in due time, then achieve some brilliance in color.

I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, give it time Brotha!

Mark, I believe so. The ORA ones come from a 20k Halide system where they hold them(as I'm told). I guess I'm at a point of frustration as well. I have the lighting, the flow, the parameters, the upkeep, but all of these corals have gone from beautiful to brown and I can't get them to color up. I admit though I have completely lost my patience with it...lol. The lower half of my system is gorgeous, colorful and full of movement and growing quickly and the top half is just a bunch of brown polyps. Grrrr

If you're done you're done. But I'd say patience will be rewarded based on similar experience with my old 40breeder. Stuff was brown forever. I just neglected the tank, or should I say, I let it be. In time, some of the SPS frags I had, gained more color than they had in my 180. Orangest orange cap I'd ever seen. Unbelievable pocci and stylo etc.

Like I said, done is done, but give love a chance....:inlove:

Mike, not sure what avenue your going to choose,but if you decide to just go lps,I might have some stuff that might interest you in a trade.

Jeez Mark, now you are making me feel bad...haha. JK. I do appreciate the support and you trying to get me to continue on with it. I guess on my next system(years down the road) I will give it a final go. By then you'll have your system up and running and we'll be playing the trading games...lol.
