i have heard that clams, when small, rely mostly on filter feeding for thier food, but once they reach a certain size they begin to rely mosltly on their photosynthetic ability.... what size is that when they dont rely on phytoplankton and are mainly going ot be feedin of the light.

According to all the readings, minimum size is 2.5". To be safe, all my clams are 3", except for one. I prefer not to get smaller ones since they don't entirely depend on feeding.
