ATI bubblemaster 250 vs. ETSS 1400

So.....I own a ETSS 1400 running on a panworld 250 for a total system volume of 250g. ETSS 1400
I have to dial down the air intake or it overflows. This skimmer rocks, but that's about $32/mon in electricity. :hmm2:

I have a led on a reasonably priced ATI bubblemaster 250. Bubblemaster
Seems to be rated adequately, but not sure if it's worth the trouble to switch them out? The ATI would only cost $7/mon.

Thoughts?

Thanks

You'll have to pro and con it out. If you add the cost of the ati and 2yrs of electricity with that skimmer, it will take 2+yrs to start to see the savings if you switch. IMO, I'd stay with the etss. Skimmer shouldn't overflow, even with that pump. Restricting the air intake hinders the performance. Are you restricting the outflow of skimmer? How high are the bioballs in the 2 towers? Is it in sump or external above water line? There are a bunch of things you can do to get that skimmer to scream!
