ATI Sunpower vs. ATI Powermodule

I've seen both and the PM doesn't look $400 better for sure, IMO anyway.

Interesting - I have not looked at the TEK units so am not familiar with the new elite version. Sounds like the biggest advantage with ATI was the quality of the reflectors. If these are now comparable but with lower price point they may be worth considering.

Not only the reflectors, but the ballast as well.

Man - there are just too many choices in lighting! I just came across a great deat on an Aqua Photon MH/T5 combo fixture. 72"l x 21"w. It has 3 250w MH units and 6 t5 bulbs - 3 on either side. Saw this in action on a tank and it is sweet. Usually cost over $3K but can get for $2k.

I have also owned a Powermodule and Sunpower in the past. I really like the look of the powermodule and the "heavy-duty-ness" of it, but thats all. IMO the only thing different between the Sunpower and Powermodule is looks and materials used in construction. There might be a 5-10% bonus because of the extra fan but that difference hardly makes any difference in the grand scheme of things.

What I never did but wanted to do was to build a oak facing that slipped over my sunpower to match my stand. It wouldnt compromise the fixture itself, just rest on the top and give the sunpower a more refined look matching my custom stand.

On Reef Geek they are showing new models of the sunpower and powermodule that will have a dimming feature. Sounds awesome. They are looking for early June as ship dates.
