ATI T5/LED hybrid

My dreams have come true. :D. I saw something on Reef Builders about ATI coming out with a T5/LED hybrid. I hope it's not as expensive as a SFILIGOI fixture
 
I already had an ATI T5/LED hybrid more than a year ago! ...but its a custom modified ATI Sunpower haha. :DI would definately buy one if it came with the appropriate LED's.

Yeah, your build is pretty sweet. For those of us who are DIY challenged, the ATI will be great. Hope they have some 6 ft fixtures.

I saw what you did and wanted to do that to my PM but never had the guts to. When you say appropriate LEDs, which LEDs are you referring to?
 
I saw the blog on Reef Builders, and so have now seen the specs of the LED's:

"Our cluster includes: six coolwhite, two red, six royalblue (1100 mw/700ma) and six super blue (min 60lm/350ma)".

I would have wanted a few violet LED's, but what they have is ok. I am glad they decided to do a T5/LED hybrid.

If they do the 24inch or a 36inch versions, I will buy one.

I would most likely use a 2 Actinics and 2 Blue+ tubes. That will complete spectrum quite well.

ATI doesn't make 6 foot fixtures so I doubt you will ever see them. The 60" fixtures are hella expensive to ship already, can you imagine a 72" fixture???:eek:

Also, a 60" fixture covers a 72" tank with no issues.

Lol. I don't know why I always put 6 ft when I mean 5 ft. I've got a 60" fixture over my 72" tank now. Looking forward to what they put out there.
 
I am almost to pull the trigger on the 6 x 80 Sunpower for my 125 reef and will like to know what is GRIM thoughts in this new combination prior making my purchase.

GRIM, please chim in.....
 
I'm 100% LED's and ain't looking back.

A friend here built a hybrid and really likes it. As long as the LED's are Royal Blue it should be good.
 
I just heard that from a friend that contacted ReefGeek about this and that they are about 3 months out on these. Also the PowerModule is being discontinued and this is the new housing that they will be using.

He was also told that there will be a LED retrofit into current SunPower owners that replaces two bulbs.

This is what I was told and did not here it from them myself.
