Pauline doesn't use skimmers ! To me they are absolutely proven technology. To go skimmerless IMO is to play with fire especially on a heavily stocked tank with fish from all over the place. I saw the "crown of thorns". It was in a plastic baggie and very freezer burned. There are so many species of echinoderms and crustacea that I am still not convinced. I do agree with the separation of a non-proift club and for profit businesses.
