ATO opinion

Ok, so my old reliable, been working for 6 years, never failed ato needs ro be replaced. It still works but it is ugly and kind of obtrusive. So I'm considering two options--the Hydor model and the Smart ATO. I would like pros and cons for both units.

I run the Tunze Osmilator nano. I freaking love this thing! With 55 you could run the nano ATO, but the full-blown one has the optic eye, as well as the float.

I have used JBJ and auto top off . Com and of the two the auto too off .com is a better option.

+1 on the smart ato. I have one and no problems at all. Very affordable and took me literally minutes to install.

Thanks all. I spoke with my lfs yesterday and I looked at the smart ato. I sold myself on that one. It's in my budget and I've not heard anything negative about it.

If you buy an apex controller, you have the ability to control your top-off. Additionally, you get the rest of the APEX capabilities for temperature control and monitoring.
