ATO Switch

Hi, I cannot find where they have ATO Switches websites, I need a couple for my sump ATO that I am setting up. I can do the acrylic holders myself as I have the material and acrylic glue, it will go into my Neptune and making my own breakout box.

The switches were bought from another member here on RC, but he ripped me off for a JBJ ATO kit (NIB) and never delivered, so $50 in drain there, but he also got another guy for $650 for a set of Vortech 40 size pumps he never delivered, does not respond to any emails, PMs or phone calls. Back to square one.

I'm a big fan of the Avast Marine switch. It has no moving parts and they have a digital version that will interface directly into your Apex.

From their website -
"Our top-off system is capable of maintaining the sump water level within +/- 1/4" tolerance (1/2" overall)"

My gravity fed ATO is dead on. And the Eshopps float valves I use, if they ever stick, will stick in the off position.

I don't quite see what the purpose of your reply is. Proving your setup is better than mine? The OP wanted links to ATO switches that he could wire in with his Apex breakout box, and I provided an answer.

I'd be happy to help weigh the pro's and cons of your ATO vs mine some other time. But I'd like to help keep this thread on track.

Not at all....touchy are you? LOL...

The point is, is that 1/2" of variance will affect the skimmer and it's operation. The whole point of an ATO is to keep the sump filled to a certain level. The more stable that level is, the better performance you will have from your skimmer. Maybe you did not know that...

Thanks Guys - I am going to order the float switches from www.aquahub.com and make my own acrylic brackets. I will be using three of them. Two for level control in my main sump. It goes into the section after the skimmer portion, that is a fixed level. One will be for top off the other will be for secondary incase first one sticks or fails. The third one will go into my acrylic top off sump of about 9 gallons and is for reverse if water level gets too low it will shut off the Aqua lifter pump. Now all I have to do is order my DIN cable for the Neptune and make a breakout box.

I got the basic mini float from aquahub and I am running it off my apex. It has kept my water level to about 1/16 inch variance for over 1 year. Good little switch.

That is very nice if that is the amount of fluctuation in your sump.

As you can see in my pic above, my gravity fed ATO stays on that line, at all times.
