Attack of the clownfish!!!!

My female tank raised ocellaris now attacks my hand everytime I have it in the aquarium close to her  . I have had her for about 8 months, never did this before. Is she just a lot bolder than before, or maybe protecting something? I don't see anything for her to protect, except for my heater. That's the only place the two of them hang out at. Anyone else have a ocellaris suddenly become very protective? Thanks!

My female black false ocellaris bites me every time I put my hand in the tank. Smart fish...she knows some serious re-decorating is about to happen!

hosting the heater, eh ? that makes sense. i can't see a reason as to why she would all of a sudden get aggresive. obviously protecting something. reminds of when i was snorkeling in the red sea way back, and came upon an anenome(can't remember what kind) and i was attacked by a two banded clown. swam right into my face mask. "peck, peck, peck" i was laughing so hard i sucked down some seawater.

irt the black ocellaris, my brother had to get his yashi goby out of his females black ocellaris mouth the other day. it was during feeding time. gotta call him and see if his goby is doing alright after that.

My female perc used to do that & even drawing blood from time to time. She seems to have calmed down now that she has been spawning for several years. Age I guess.

Mine just rammed me the other day for the first time. She was my first fish.

Our female occell has drawn blood before. She also hates the green turkey baster we were using for food. She calmed down a little when we switched turkey basters. Now she's pretty mello, she only gets aggressive if we mess with the nem, she'll hold a grudge for a few days and then be okay.

Fortunately mine's still small... but recently has taken to attacking my hand when i'm really playing around with the tank. Where did our relationship go wrong?!

She loves my hand when its outside the tank with food....

ummm yeah, unless I see a pic of that clown and it has fangs I am calling BS. I have had maroons and clarkiis draw blood, but it never looked like that. did you just sit there and let it chew on you?

lol....

I wonder if anybody has sustained real injuried from fish in their tanks.

Clowns, no. But there are animals that i'm sure could. I hear nasty stories about stomapods/mantis shrimp too.

Ive had a moroon pair for a couple years now and she never came after me untill about 9 months ago. After a couple moves she is obviously afraid of my green net. I just put that in the tank and she leaves me alone.

sort of like in 24 where Jack Bauer puts his gun on the table during interviews... just so everyone knows where he stands.
