On the tank of rotifers that you were heating, what was the temp?

74

Both mine are now unheated and run between 59 and 61 degress

Well I've counted several times and I do have 7 fish. One is growing very fast and is almost 30% larger than the rest. They ate my homemade frozen food last night very aggressively yeah!

I should have a batch of eggs hatching tonight. I resisted temptation about pulling them last night and I don't think any hatched.

Now for the good and bad news. The good My family and I are going on a cruise. The bad someone has to watch my tank for me. The ones that hatch tonight should be transfered to a grow out tank by the time we leave so I'm not to worried about that, however I won't be able to get him to do any BBS while I'm gone so they better be eating frozen food. I'm hoping my rotifers can go a week without any maintenance and I will split my phyto just before I leave. I will probably also miss a hatch while I am gone.

Well I had about 30 hatch from the last batch. Still a little disappointed with that. The first batch I had done was 100% not 5% - 15% like I have been getting. I am obviously taking them out to early.

Anyway the 7 in the growout tank are growing really fast and most have thier 3rd stripe. There are now some territorial battles going on. I have 4 in one corner 1 by himself and 2 more in the opposite corner. They are very funny when they fight each other and very fast.

I'm sure you're happy! As far as taking them out to early, what I've done when I'm not sure if they will hatch on a particular night is to watch them after the lights go out and if they start hatching, I move them to the nursery then. The parents take better care of aerating them then my air stone so I keep them with the parents in the main tank for as long as I can.

Exciting, but no update in almost a week! Congrats on getting the 7 so far along, thats reward for all your hard work! Now you know you can do it, just tweek and tweek until you are getting more and more!

All seven are growing and eating my homemade frozen food in a frenzy. I have about 8 alive @ day 6 in the larvae tank. However I am going on a cruise this weekend and don't know what to do with them. I don't think they will be big enough to transfer to the growout tank on Saturday. I don't know anybody in my area who has any expeirence with raising clown to watch them. So I am going to have to pray that they will be ok for a week. I will have someone come in and feed my main tank, doing top offs and feeding my growout tank. But I'm sure the BBS is something they cannot do. We leave on Saturday so I'll have to make a last minute decision on what to do.

It appears both my rotifers tanks have crashed. My phtyo is finally doing well.

The clowns laid eggs on Saturday but I will be out of town so they will just hatch in the display tank.

can they survive and grow in the display tank?

No they will be food for the tank. What isn't eaten will be obliterated by the pumps.

at what day do you strat feeding something other than rotifers?

Day 4 baby brine shrimp.

I just transfered the smaller guys to the big guy tank and everything went smoothly. I think a transfered 7 more. I fed my homemade food and they all seemed to eat it. Hopefully all will be well while I am gone.

I'm still very disappointed and am hoping for one BIG batch when I get back.

I will try tonight. But I have ALOT of packing to do.

I think they are about 36 days old now.

Just returned from my trip. All the older guys are doing great getting bigger. All the little guys did not make it. Not really suprised but was hoping. The eggs in the tank hatched and there a no new eggs yet. Just as well I have to go away again next weekend.

Sorry still not pics.
