Cool sounds like they are doing well. Keep up the good work. Man these things can eat a TON of rots in a hurry can't they?

I don't remember them ever eating this many rots. I have no idea how I ever raised them before. I never had anywhere near this many rots before.

GSM batch VI was transfered to a 5 gallon tank tonight. I added rots and instant algae. Looks like I should have pulled them last night (night 6) as it looks like some hatched last night.

OCP3 batch IV is gone.

FB

GSM batch IV mostly all hatched last night. probably 50 or so. Can't really tell if they are eating anything yet. I added more rotifers to the tank this morning.

OCP1 batch VIII is doing really well @ 48 hours. Still more than 100 alive. They are all eating and the green water is clearing very fast.

GSM batch IV is doing well. They are swimming around but still hard to tell if they are eating anything.

OCP1 batch VIII is going well also. More than 100 alive and are actively eating rotifers. The green water is clearing every 12 hours or so the the rotifer density is very good.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I think I can pretty much blame all this past trouble on the brown instant algae. I will throw it out!

OCP1 batch VIII has probably 30 or so left. I never checked but my guess is ammonia. I did a 80% water change the day after most disppeared and don't seem to have lost any since. I fed BBS but none seemed interested which is strange as they usually attack them. I also fed Oto A and did not see any of them eat it! I will be doing another large water change tonight.

GSM batch IV is still doing well. Rotifer density is good. Not sure if they are progressing or not but they are obviously eating something. I added ~20 bbs and they did not eat them. Will do my first water change tonight.

As of this morning I had no eggs.

I am going on a much needed (HOT) vacation to Cozumel on March 25th. Tank sitter will be feeding and watching all my tanks. She has done an excellent job in the past so I'm sure she will do well again.

I am planning a larvae system out in my head. Not sure which direction to go with it though. I am thinking maybe 6 larvae tanks. Not sure if I should go with glass tanks or my 17 gallon blue round tubs. I am going to try the BRT on my next nest of Occelaris and see how it goes now that I seem to have my death problem under control. I am planning on finishing my basement this summer with a playroom for the kids and a fish room for me :D If I end up doing this a complete rebuild will be in the works. I don't really like the setup I have now and will be trying something different. I really like what RKelman has setup so I may try that route.

Good luck with the GSM batch !

Cozumel Vacation ? Don't you know we're in the middle of an economic global slowdown ? LOL (my wife been bugging me to go somewhere too)

Global Economic Slowdown.

I'm loving it. My Mortgage is @ "prime - 0.90%" or 1.6% I'm laughing all the way to the bank.....Oh wait I work for the bank. Ah never mind.

Besides what's money if you can't spend it...LOL

I just wish I could bring all the fish home from cozumel.

I saw this guy last time I was in Cozumel....Do you think he would like my 120.

That sounds like my last batch i lost. i fed bbs and they did not seem interested at all. I fed some oto a as well same response. rot density was real good and the water keep clearing from green to clear inbetween only part of the equation that did not make sense to me was the dying babies.

I wouldn't be so sure about ammonia. I honestly don't think it has that much effect on them. At least in my experience. Enjoy your trip. You should get the sitter online here so she can ask for help if needed.

The owner of the store I sell my fish to gave me his number and said she could call if she needed anything.

OCP1 batch VIII is now eating OtoA. I get home and not only have they gone through meta most have the first stripe already. I swear they were all larvae this morning. That is crazy.

GSM batch IV seems to still be doing well. Fed a ton more rots and some oto A tonight. Still have atleast 6-7 left that I can count at the same time. There are probably more.

GSM batch VII was laid down some time today. Looks like a pretty good batch.

OCP3 batch V was laid down tonight. They have a very good orange colour and the eggs seem very large to me. Much bigger than my other Occ pair. However OCP3 female is hugh so that might have something to do with it. What should I do with these eggs. Just leave them or try and incubate them myself. What would happen if I gave the eggs to another male to look after?

Two of my 5 gallon rot cultures crashed. One is going really strong.

FB - I'm gonna start to follow this thread. I got eggs last night (first time 4yr old A. Frenatus pair). So I may have some Q's for you after I get through your first 40 pages. Trying to gauge whether I can success in this arena.

I just noticed that I have been refereing to my last GSM batch as batch IV this is incorrect it is batch VI. The batch just laid down was stated correctly as batch VII.

The water in GSM batch VI was very clear this morning and I saw probably 10 (I think). I added more rots, bbs, and green water. I also started a slow drip of FW to start to bring the water down to 1.020-1 range.

OCP1 batch VIII is doing well and they were eating Oto A this morning. I also fed BBS but I did not see them eat any.

Thanks

FB

GSM batch VI has a couple left. They don't seem to be eating rots, bbs or Oto A. I did feed Rots and BBS this morning and added more green water.

OCP1 batch VIII appear to be all gone. Not sure what happened but would bet on WQ.

I have ordered some 53 micron mesh to setup a larvae setup. Who knows when I will actually get it setup.

FB

OCP1 batch IX was laid down tonight.

OCP3 batch V is down to about 30-40 eggs.

GSM batch VII seems to be keeping the numbers up.
