what would you consider the min. wattage and # of bulbs over a 20g tank to keep a single squamosa or derasa? How mature should the tank be? other care?

do you think that a sqamosa or derasa would be able to live in a 20g long (12" tall), with 4 24 watt T5 HO bulbs? 2 10K and 2 actinic? also, were would they need to be placed? is $49 about fair for a 2.5" mostly brown w/ a little blue derasa clam?

I have one crocea in my 29 Gallon, with Aquactinics TX5 lighting.
My question is:
Do I need to raise the clam from the sand and put in on rocks?
It's been in the sand for about 30 days now, and I was told that it'd need to be closer to the lights (about 18" away from 5 bulbs). And now I'm wondering if the mantle is open far enough cause it's ingrained in my brain that I need to raise it...

I have 120W T5 and a golden maxima 6" from the surface in a 33g tank.
It's doing great. Maximas an croceas do well on rocks. They will attach themselves to the rock if they like the spot.

You can tell if he likes the spot if he stops moving around. Mine took a week before he found a spot he liked and attached himself. At first it was moving around too, sometimes leaning on the side as well. I just put him straight again. The mantle should open up nicely. The more light it gets the better. Maybe he just needs to get used to the more intense light as you put it up a bit higher. Straighten him up and wait a few more days and see.

I have the 24'' T-5 Aquactinics for my 20g, and my crocea is about 9'' from the top. Had it for 3 months, and I can easily see shell growth. I'd say a good inch for the top of the shell. It looks perfectly healthy. But no matter what, water quality is as important as your lighting. From what I've heard, individual reflectors are very important with t-5 lighting. This is why I chose this fixture.
