Bummer! This will be the first WCR meetup I will have to miss since I joined. My baby daughter's welcoming party is that day.

Next time we should take a poll first. ;)

I was thinking of taking a poll but since its a members house, I left it up to Bob on what would work for him and his family.

Well I hope I can make my first meeting ever. Can anyone give me an idea of how they go?

You meet up with members with tags on. Screen names and real names on each tag. Talk about the hosting members tank and ask numerous question on how they maintain the tank. Talk to everyone generally about reefing. Eat lunch pending what people bring and cook. Raffle.... if I'm correct $20 for 5 tickets or 10. Its one or the other. There will be numerous corals out there to pick from (last raffle I'd say there were 30-40+ frags out there)? Once your ticket is picked you get to choose what you want. Afterwards we talk about corals more then part ways. LOL

^^ that's pretty much how it goes=). If you have any of those awesome zoas to spare you were talking about you can bring a frag or two or more to donate to the raffle. The raffle is pretty straight forward and pretty awesome. I've only been to one meeting so far but the guys/gals are super knowledgeable and friendly and you will have a great time. I just hope I'm still allowed to come after what happened at the last raffle =)..

I'm just glad I get to watch the beat down this time :debi:..... Well I hope ha ha

Sticks and stones we'll break your bones... But Zoas will also sting you...

Beat down to the newbie... ;)

Going to have to catch me first lol.

I would love to however the project has hit a dead stop... My boss hasnt payed me in 9 weeks so I have no cash to buy the colonys :( but I have some red hornets or jokers that have the red ring I could bring if anyone is interested.

Well shucks I guess im screwed. Maybe ill bring in some nice coral for the raffel anyone have something they are looking for? Zoas or some sps.

I asked a similar question last time as I'm new and I was informed that any frags/coral you want to bring to expand the clubs resources will be appreciated. + everybody loves SPS and zoas =)..

That said I'm bringing some Ricordia, sunset rhodactis, forest fire digi, Germany blue digi + some more that I can't think of yet.

Would anyone be interested in an about 2 inch piece of blue tipped pocillopora? It broke of the mother colony when I was moving some new coral into the tank.

Or I can frag multiple branches off of it.

I picked a Saturday and when I host always will due to having to work some on Sunday afternoons. It works when I attend a meeting, but not when I host

Man, sounds like I will miss an interesting swap with newbies already willing to donate to the "raffle swap". That's what I love about WCR. It is generous people willing to share and contribute monies.

So WCR, instead of membership fees, supports out annual coral swap and are able to buy in new corals using these funds.

A different model than model than other clubs, but it works for this group!
