Reefing On My Mind

What do you guys think about having an August meeting??? We usually don't do a meeting the same month as a Frag Swap, but I was wondering since we didn't have a June meeting because of our swap, and the July meeting is a week later than usual and a few can't attend, if you guys want to have an August meeting??? I am thinking August 22nd, which would be the weekend after the Chattanooga swap...

LMK your thoughts... A few have expressed interest in having the meeting at Aquatic Marine... I think it would be a nice way to show support to them since they helped to sponsor our swap...

That sounds like a great idea to me -- especially meeting at Aquatic Marine. I'll have no excuses not to make that meeting (it being 4000 feet from my house as the crow flies -- about 2.5 miles on surface roads).

Be sure to bring a few $$$ for fish -- they have good prices. :)

I heard something about $50 Blue Spot Jawfish... :eek1: Not sure if that was a rumor or not...

I think that is what they are charging. That guy is pretty cool -- they have him in one of the big coral tanks in the middle of the floor.

When I say good prices, I mean I got a purple firefish for $28 and a yellow and a green goby for $7 each. I have recently seen yasha gobies for $40 and a Helfrichi firefish for $99.

$65 is I think what we paid for our blue spot. They're in abundance at the wholesalers right now.

It shares the building with Nova.

What time would the meeting be? What works best for Aquatic Marine? Is there a place nearby to meet for food after? I am assuming nobody has ask to host the meeting, right?

We did have a Blue Spotted Jawfish in our Coral Tank, but he jumped out last saturday. We put a cross in where he dug his little home.

Bojangles and a BBQ joint aren't far away. There's always the Powell shopping district proper with plenty of more options for food.

Where is the Bojangles???

I was thinking 12 noon for a meeting time...

Aquatic Marine (Trent) said they'd provide Pizza and cokes for us... :)

That's a shame -- he was fun to watch. I think those guys are guarenteed to jump eventually unless stopped...

Bojangles is in "downtown" Powell. If we head south towards the Walmart/Target area of Clinton Hwy, though, there is a Salsaritas there that would be my idea of ideal for food if free pizza wasn't on the menu.

Oh!!! I know where that Bojangles is... :) I've only been to the one in Lenoir City... Its not bad, not sure if I'm a fan of those onion potato things... :D

I'm going to have to try Salsaritas... I've heard from multiple sources that it is quite yummy...
