August Meeting

Hi everyone,

The August meeting will be at my place on Sunday, the 16th. I seem to remember someone asking if we could have a meeting other than on Saturdays, so here it is. I hope everyone can come. I guess a good time to start would be around 4:00 p.m. I'll have some good stuff to eat and soda/beer. I drink Molson Canadian, so.......We'll also have a campfire for roasting hotdogs or, my favorite, hot brats.....and marshmallows for s'mores. I'll supply all that stuff. My back yard has a small stream (very small, about two feet across), so if you bring your kids (and you certainly may), they can hunt frogs and salamanders and other critters (and get wet in the process, so bring extra clothes/shoes).

Edit: bring a bag chair if you can. I do have some extra chairs.

Is the stream only for kids to play in and find frogs and such? If not -- if reefers are invited to play in the stream, too -- I would like to come!*
Let me know if you need any extra hotdog/marshmellow forks or the like. If anyone would like, I can bring some canned peaches, more marshmellows, and cinnamon -- wrapped in foil in the fire, the marshmellows melt over the peach halves and the whole thing is warm and lovely. Or not, doesn't matter.
If you could PM me directions, that would be great. I can't wait to meet your GSPs!

* I do have a possible complication to my attending, as a death in the family is in the near future. But barring that, I will be there.

I'm glad to see the response so far!
Emily, so sorry to hear of a loved one's pending passing. We just endured my mother in law's death from pancreatic cancer. It was horrible to witness her slow demise, but she's in a wonderful place now with no worries. We are the ones left to suffer, but time heals all. You can play in the stream too, if you wish (if you'll agree to wear a life jacket)! I'm not sure I know to what you are referring when you say GSPs. I don't have any green star polyps, nor do I have any German Short-haired Pointers! What else could it be? Anyway, I'll PM directions to everyone.

Sorry Joe --- I realized about an hour later "that was Joe's post, not Greg's" (who does have German Shorthair Pointers.) I think it was the stream that threw me off. I know Greg lives in Perry Co. and I may have just assumed he had land.... But I've been at my grandmother's since posting so I couldn't correct.
