these aussie osc seem to darken alot faster than the ora counterpart ive had in the past.

hmmm.. Ive wondered about this, I purchased 2 Oc clowns and I have noticed that the smaller of the two is at this time a deeper orange and the top half of him is turning almost smokey colored, he seems to be slowly changing in color, Im pretty sure already that the two are from diff locations but now im wondering if this what is happening in your pics here is whats happening in my tank

well most black osc in the us are from ora. i was just looking for new genetics. in general black osc dev. at diff times. just bec one devs black better does not necessarily indicate its lineage.

She/He gain lots of weight and seem much healthier (no concave in lower body). A very nice fish.
Good job.

thanks everyone, minh :)

yes ive been very happy. the other one(larger) is even darker. i was not able to get a good pic of it.

im going to split them apart though.

I like it!

I've been looking for a pair of black and whites. Almost had a pair, but one of them died while still at the store so I passed :(

I guess it depend on where you are. On the West Coast, I would say that most of the black ocellaris out here were originally from TMC.
Sea Dwelling Creatures has been bringing in a lot of black ocellaris recently. I can tell by the noses they are not from ORA. I think someone said they might be coming from a breeder in Australia.
