IME it happens to a fair amount of wild corals that are fragged and sold before they are fully acclimated to captive life. This can possibly be the issue with some of these aussie acroporas that are flooding the market.Hope it recovers for you.Maybe frag above the RTN and reglue. That has proven to save a few for me in the past.GL

The piece I got was defintely healed over. It was even starting to get new corallite growth. That's what was weird about this happening.

Mine is a frag from a wild colony as far as I know, I don't know the time frame of the fragging. Mine is still doing good. It's lost some of the brown and seems to be turning more white(lighter brown and I'm in denial ;) ). The blue is still showing and looking good. The coral has encrusted a little and the branches have grown and extended some. It seems to be stuck in the new wild coral growth rut; hopefully this month it will put on more than the last.

Interesting the way that branch is growing up. If you cut the top 1" off, one would never guess "echinata" of the frag.

Mine is finally showing a bit of PE during the day.

nice looking pieces guys, im fixing to get a piece of ICEFIRE in a few days, this thread has helped me decide where the final resting place will be. Thanks

rutz81 I got it from a lfs. SD yeah I think it's a high light high flow thing. Or perhaps the radial corallites take a long time to develop?
