That price sounds pretty similar for me too, Terry (I think that's your name, right tbone?). Of course you have to throw in a few more bones (I crack myself up) for shipping. Chris, nobody's withholding information, there are just huge variations regionally and you have to check around.

Thanks, thats the kind of ball park I was looking for, thats all good info, thanks...sorry wasn't trying to ruffle feathers or fins.

I'll be getting a quote, just was wondering if I was wasting my time...being in the wrong zipcode with prices.

I mean I don't shop for Ferrari's for a reason, but I do shop Acuras.

lol, yup "that's my name, and don't wear it out!" LOL, I crack myself up too - remember that one from middle school? :D

Yes Chris, we're not witholding, just don't want to give you the wrong idea about price. It's not like asking us how much our skimmer cost.

Yeah, that would be in poor taste  .

Its no big deal, I am realizing that some people don't mind sharing that they spent $2k on some lighting, and some people do mind...etc...so I will just get used to that. Wasn't trying to ruffle you all's fins. Sorry.

I'll have my quote soon, but from the looks of it, and zipped lips on prices, I have strange feeling they'll be Porche prices vs. Hondas.

Oh and I wasn't trying to say you weren't sharing info! You all have been great at that! I really appreciate you guys/gals, all us new hobbyists truly do! Thanks! Big Kudos to you all!

Guess you better go ahead and trade in the Acura for the Porsche, then :) . And don't worry, no fins ruffled in the process!

Seriously, the room afforded by a steel stand is definitely worth the added cost.

Thanks Dudester, I sent you an email, for some help with that diagram. Mainly just help with the new size and all the bulkheads...your opinions.

and don't forget that there some pretty cool variations like Sanjay's cement block and steel beam stand.
Where could I find pics of that? Or a link maybe....

Thanks!

That's funny because I have been spending most of my time over on www.6speedonline.com.

Droooool!!!!

You can't post pictures like that when there are those of us entering our mid life crisis behind the wheel of an Acura!

My TL is sweet but can't shine a candle to that beauty ;)

stunreefer - Here's the thread that jnarowe was talking about regarding the cement and steel stand. It's on Sanjay's 500g reef. The stand discussion begins on the first page of the thread.

reef / aholic - Sweet ride!

Thanks for asking, Bart. It's coming along nicely. The first floor and much of the 2nd floor is framed, and my wife is busy selecting flooring, granite countertops, cabinetry and the like. I'm in charge of the home audio/security integration, my garage workshop, and of course the tank room. I'm still in the design phase of the tank and the layout of the tank room, but it's progressing well enough.
