So, I ran water throughout my sump and plumbing today, and everything is EXCELLENT! drain keeps up with the pump on full blast, glad i went with 1 1/2" drain. however, there is a slow drip underneath the rubbermaid container where I drilled the hole for the ballvalve to slip in, should have used more silicone, ill fix this eventually tomorrow, and hope to have it running
, hoping I rid my leak tomorrow, also I have a lot of little debris floating around right now, some pvc shavings, some hairs from my arm, (lol) and some stuff that was in the sand, I'm going to put a filter sock around the return pvc pipe and hope that catches some as well as once I get a skimmer in this bad boy.
just ro, i had a small leak so i couldnt run my full capacity of water, and i was still unsure if i was going to drain any so i didnt really want to waste anything, but anyway, i siliconed the leak today, still waiting a little bit longer for it to dry and then i will see if it holds water, if we are good, i will be adding salt and a filter sock as i do still have quite a few of pvc shavings floating around in my water that were collected when water ran for the first time.
So, my salts mixed a heaters in there keeping it semi at 76 , an old heater, anyway my salt mixing skills are apparently pretty good, as I semi guessed at how much to put in, and checked once, and I was a little over 1.025, and its been running for about 3 days so I know its well mixed by now, anyway theres still a lot of work, but I picked up some rock today to at least get this thing cycling some what heres some pics, just kinda tossed the rock in for now.
Still no skimmer or lighting, all to come in the future, filter sock with carbon will be put on tomorrow to help the cloudiness from the sand, but other than that its waiting.
