AuThoRitY's 90g Build Thread!

looking really good...like the gloves...good choice...i think you might have a little rock anem in there though...need to get rid of that before it spreads...use some antipasta X or something....i would say peppermint shrimp but it might be to early to add one.....tank looks verrrrry nice though!!

ohh and only one thing if i may...is that a coralife thermometer in the tank....good call but why not put it in the sump and keep the display as clean as you can....just thought though...again looking good and like the fish room wish i had one!!

thats actually like a 10 dollar heater from walmart :D and its just temporarily heating the water till I get my controller and nice one, its keeping it at about 77, and its not submersible so yea, lol. however when I get the new one it will be in the sump, and yes the tank is very clean now thank god, I flipped all the rocks and stirred the sand from my carbon disaster, also I have to joes juice just about everything on those rocks, AND, that skimmer is temporary, and the fuge that used to be in there is going to be pulled out and have a seperate stand for it while splitting the drain so I can feed into the fuge and have it drain back into the sump, :D lots of work, trimming the outside of the tank hopefully this week sometime, :D make it look somewhat presentable ;D

sounds like a great plan and you are on top of everything well done...can't wait to see more i finally got my tank to stop leaking i think lol plumbing was a pain!!!!

haha, i hear ya man, I'm glad my dads done plumbing since he was 16 and hes now 45, so.. I guess he knew what he was doing on my ro/di and tank etc. :D and he gets everything for free for me from his job, so :D I can't complain, minus the weird parts I have to order from MarineDepot. :D, oh I almost forgot to mention, notice my return spout, and my elbowed strainer drain :D, I think it works out pretty good keeps the water level JUST below the rim of the tank, so I can have some powerful flow, and stick my whole arm in the tank without it overflowing

Looks good so far, i wish i was able to make a fish room like you have. I am techincally above my water heater and furnice, i could potentially make a fe holes and plump in downstairs but i know my father does not want that especially if im going to be moving out within 2 years.. i will married next year:S

Yeah, looks good. You DO have a couple of things to rid yourself of on the rocks. You have two nuisence anem, one is Aiptasia, the other is Majano anemones.. both are bad, but the one that is really hard to rid yourself of is the Majano anemone. Try to get rid of them soon before you get coral in the tank.

right, im well aware :D, I had them in my 29 as well when I set that up for the first time, I have joes juice left, and that killed my majano in my 29 no problem at all :D, thanks and welcome aboard both of you, and its no where near a fish room yet, way more to come . :D

I wish when I was 19 my parents would let me cut a big hole in the wall and have a fish room!!! Hell I wish my wife would let me do it now! Looking real nice you did one hell of a job there. Once I get some more growth on those zoa's I'll let you know.

Well, heres a update since I haven't in a while. Got a BUNCH of new things today, a lot more live rock, probably as much as I'm going to do, Full of zoos, tubes, shrooms, and unfortunatly some hair algae, and much more. However the rock is very nice looking, Anyway, I got a Green BTA with the rock, it was wedged in the rock, and guy was afraid to pull it out without killing it, so he left it, and its already semi starting to come out, its a fairly small one, but hey for free? I couldn't complain. He also gave me his Wild Caught Maroon Clown that hosts in it, I know I know, I shouldn't have took him but if I wouldn't have he was probably going to let him suffer and I got it for free anyway as he wanted everything gone. :D I also got a bunch of strange corals too.

Ok well heres some pictures, Just my power compacts from my 29 over it for now until I order my halides, Also the clown ever since added has been where pictured, on the far left of the tank, and hes just kinda waddling I really hope he survives, very cool looking guy. However he hasn't moved much at all, hes been in the same spot for about 6 hours. Tested all my levels before and after the rock was added today, and everything is still perfect.

Temp is a little low, around 75,

however Nitrate/Nitrite = 0
Ammonia = 0
PH = 8.1-8.3

so,,,, I hope everything works out, heres some shots.

sorry not the best quality..

some other sweet news,

my clown took his first trip around the tank today, and is now back to hiding =/

i also found 4 huge shrooms on the LR, and a bunch more zoanthids, and my xenia is open way larger today as well. :D :D so far so good. i wasnt going to think any of this coral would live because it was so soon, but everything seems to be thriving!

did the rock come with all that hair algae on there??? glad to hear about the corals....although what is that one on the sand...it looks like a hard coral...sps?? what lighting is over it now??

2 x 250 watt ice cap pendants, with 2x 250 ice cap ballasts, with 2 x 14k phoenix bulbs...

currently i only have the 30" pc fixture from my 29 over it, until i get the money for my halides :D and the coral on the bottom, im not positive, its very sweet though, the pictures of it suck. but it looks awesome :D im gonna move it higher up, and on a base rock, cuz its getting covered with sand.

oh and yes the rock had the hair algae on it, but the rock looks awesome, and had so much more on it, as u can see. along with the clown and the green bubble tip anemone. which i have yet to see come ALL the way out, for 60 bucks, so... u tell me if it was a good deal ;)

you paid 60 for the green bubble tip....wow....i would try and take it back and have them hold it until you have lighting for it...and they need a stable tank....you doing great but might be too early for a anem sorry to say....and be careful 60 is verrry high for that....just trying to look out for you man...on the right track though.

no no no no no matt. lol... hahahhhhhhahaha

I paid 60$ for ALL OF THAT LIVE ROCK, THE MAROON CLOWN, ANNNDDDD THE GREEN BUBBLE TIP. And every coral attached to it, I know its to early but he told me I had to take it so I did, which is why I have at leastttt my pcs on it, I'll be getting one of the sets of halides within about 3 weeks for sure. so hopefully it survives until then, nothing I could do. He insisted on me taking it..

LoL.... Sorry if I came off making it sound like 60 for just the anemone, yea the 60 was for the fish anemone and all that rock and coral :D
