after i get back from this saturdays frag swap in chicago, I will post some. havent updated in a while.... some stuffs been ticking me off, my clown gobies killed 2 of my 3 sps frags.... so been a little angry. =/

Ok well,,,,,,,,,,, heres some news, a quicky at least,

News :
-Clown Goby is finally out. As of yesterday! w00t

-New corals from the swap, nuke green palys, green birdsnest, some kind of cool red zoanthids.

Also bought a baby maroon, to try to pair with my female, but that didnt go as planned, so now its living in my fuge, until I figure out what to do,,,

Anyway.... enjoy,

I'm worried there may be some nudis in the mix? Not sure that I read everything between the pics, but I noticed the bleaching and areas of tissue loss and it caught my eye...


But I love the FTS and the in-wall:

the picture is just poor quality for the color comparison, but the weird growth is just the way its been growing encrusting over the rock and everything, its getting HUGE!!!!!!!!!! and i broke off a few pieces trying to catch my clown goby out from underneath it,,,,, what you mean by nudis???? but other than that its good to go thanks for the comment about the FTS, and the color is the picture, color looks real good.

Better get that other light soon or your going to run out of room only having the one side. at least the one side is looking good.

Thanks, and I plan on it. Just bought a new skimmer today, right now its more important than the other light. imo. But thanks for the comment.

Reef Octo, NW200.... Installed quick, and running, no skimmate yet, it was like new. Still breaking in.

wiz you should pm me or call me, and explain how or what im doing wrong, I got that a few days back. and still no skimmate at all I've even messed with the water height, still nothing, just like a teaspoon worth.

first off, you need to let it break in- a couple weeks, next make sure that it is sitting about 8" of water or whatever is suggested by the manufacture. The is a skimmer forum for the octopus. that might be the best place to look. Also make sure that the skimmer is set so that the level sits where the skimmer body meets with the collection cup. Try that

Let it break in before pursuing modifications. The most common mods to boost performance seem to be the gate valve (output) and mesh mod (impeller)... both are fairly simple and straight forward.

Also, you can also recirc mod the skimmer, but that requires cutting into the skimmer body and relocating the main pump. As well as requiring an additional feed pump to supply the skimmer.

Like I said... let it break in first.

Hey, so i got around to getting pics (sorry for the uncleaned glass). just let the thing break in and do this tweak and you should be good:

the output, very little and barely any micro bubbles (sorry about the silencer in the way):

the body (see how it is only around the pump input with little bubbles towards the bottom):
