auto feeders, where do you put them?

I would like to know where you put your automatic feeders, especially if you have a acrylic tank with a solid lid and two access holes? Also, what if you have one large light fixture which sits directly on top and covers the two access holes?

ok this is funny. I wish this was my problem. Where to put the auto feeder....

Well anways, most attach to the rim of the tank. However in your case some drilling is going to be required. Or if you have a sump, let it go into the sump, have the pump suck the food into the main display.

I dont think an auto feeder is a good option . Much can go wrong.

What are you using the auto feeder for? vacation?

I heard of a pretty cool design someone rigged up to feed anthias pellet food. They hooked it up on there sump with an extension funnel that emptied right in front of the return pump. The pellets were small enough not to cause issues with the pump, and the guy even had his phosban reactors output empty into the funnel to keep the food flushed through it.

As stated above though, why are you considering an auto feeder?

The problem is that the more things that can go wrong, the more things that WILL go wrong. So, if you can minimize points of failure, you are generally better off.

I put mine right on top of the eggcrate covering my tank. No problems to date... except me dropping the feeder once when I was moving the crate, resulting in an explosion of flake food all over the floor.
