I'm going to be getting the tunze osmolator and since I am going to be using kalk in my ato is there any thing that I can buy that when the power goes out the ato will have to be manually turned back on when the power is restored

In NZ those RCCB units that you plug into a normal wall socket do not turn back on after a power cut (as opposed to the permanently wired ones that do turn back on) so, assuming they are the same where you live, you could plug the osmolator unit's power supply into one of those and it would wait for you to reset the RCCB to turn it back on.

hmm I have the Tunze 3155 and it just turns on by itself when it's plugged in, so power outage should not have impact to you. The only thing you would need to be concerned with is water siphoning back if the hose is submerged, or doesn't have a check valve.

I run my ATO return thorough a kalk reactor that has a check valve.

I think the op is more concerned about dumping a ton of kalkwasser in the tank if power is out for extended times and evaporation is high.

I recommend using a slow peristaltic pump to feed the ato. This way it is slow and never dumps a slurry.

ohh.. that makes more sense, although your evap would likely slow down with power out therefore there would not be a ton to replenish. Are we talking days, or hours?
